Hey Team! Join us on FRC Kids-cast this week as we talk about one of the ETHOS here at Flamingo; Environment. We look at the question; How does it make me feel? We talk about the physical environment and the environment we create through our actions as people.
Find out what’s coming up this weekend as we go into the new virtue “Joy”! And get a sneak peak in to what we will discuss next week on FRC Kids-cast!

And as we pray for you and the rest of the volunteers, pray for us directors and leaders as well so we don't forget to implement and follow through with the ethos and vision and passion of FRC- which is awesome!!!! Hey you guys great job. I missed the end cuz i clicked the wrong button lol but i will get back to it. I wanted to comment on what you were talking about being mindful of certain things around. One of them being the kids themselves. I havent been doing this for very long long but i have come across about 4 kids in different classes that spoke of disturbing things. Things like this for example, I hate my brother i want him to die or my grandfather drinks alot and gets drunk all the time now he;s really sick. I think it is important to really listen so we can bring that to the parents attention. sometimes some of our kids are hurting inside and no one really knows it. However they may say something that catches our attention and we can make all the difference in that childs life just by making their parents aware of it or just by being there for them to talk about whats hurting them. We are so blessed that we can make a difference like we all do every week. its great to be a part of this incredible team.

WOW, you are so right monavie. Thank the Lord for leaders like you, who take the time to "listen" to our children. It really makes me sad that sometimes there are not enough volunteers stepping up to "listen" to our children. My kids are in preschool, but I am very thankful for the fantastic leaders who take the time each week to "listen" to my children.

Thank you ladies for sharing. Listening can sometimes be so difficult to do and is so vital in a person's life, especially a child. I've noticed it is in the little things, like writing a card or giving a child a small, but encouraging gift (a sticker, let's say)- speaks so BIG in a kid's life.
And sometimes letting a small group leader know what maybe you saw or heard, can help them reach out on a one to one conversation. Just some thoughts. :)

Wonderful!! This is it! Thank you ladies for leading out in that.

To expand on that conversation.....I was just talking to the Small Group Assistant for the adults and she said that she had received a call from a hurting parent for her 7 year old that just recently lost his father. This was very sad to hear and I was stopped in my tracks. She advised family counseling that we do have here on campus. Which is something that not everyone is aware of.This situation is something we hope parents will share with the small group leader so that if they have a rough time or seem distracted the leader can better determine how to handle the situation. And above all else, pray!! Pray for that child and the things the children may be going through. We may not have all the answers but He does! Let's raise up these families in prayer. We don't know who they are but God does. Thanks again team for who you are in Him and all you do through Him!
